Kelly Ripa reveals that her daughter had prom dress secretly altered

Kelly Ripa reveals that her daughter Lola had her prom dress altered secretly to be more revealing: ‘The girls are fully on display!’

She secured her status as a daytime talk show legend after debuting nearly 20 years ago.

Now Kelly Ripa is let her imprimatur to upstart host Jerry O’Connell, 45, as he launched his new series Jerry O’ on Monday.

The 48-year-old TV star opened up about her daughter’s rebellious prom outfit, while fitting in a few games with Jerry.

Deception: Kelly Ripa, 48, appeared on the premiere of Jerry O’Connell’s talk show Jerry O’ where she shared a hilarious story about her 18-year-old daughter Lola secretly altering her dress to make it more revealing

The Live With Kelly And Ryan star arrived in a flowing black dress that showcased her trim legs. The look was cinched around her waist to highlight her hourglass figure.

After a heart-to-heart about Jerry’s anxiety over starting a new talk show, the conversation turned to Kelly’s daughter Lola Consuelos, 18.

The Stand By Me star put up a sweet photo of Kelly posing with her daughter the evening of her senior prom.

Lola gave off a busty display in a silky green dress, which seems to be exactly the look she was going for.

Mom and daughter: ‘That’s the prom dress that she — we had made, and then she had altered behind our backs,’ she said, referring to the silky green dress that now showed off Lola’s bust

Having a laugh: ‘So that’s why the girls are fully on display,’ joked Kelly, adding: ‘Everybody came down the stairs together — and I just mean Lola!’

Kelly showed off her resemblance to her daughter while wearing a stylish dress with pink, white and gray designs and silvery streaks.

‘That’s the prom dress that she — we had made, and then she had altered behind our backs,’ she said.

Though Kelly seemed to have made peace with the deception, she didn’t mind joking about her daughter’s attire.

‘So that’s why the girls are fully on display,’ joked Kelly. ‘Everybody came down the stairs together — and I just mean Lola!’

Scared straight: The two friends interrupted the discussion to focus on HBO’s Euphoria, which presents a stylized vision of high school replete with drug use and promiscuous sex

Kelly revealed that Lola and her friends are fans of the series and like to watch it together.

‘I said, “Is that what it’s really like?” And she goes, “Um, I don’t really think so. I mean, not that much,”‘ said Kelly, adopting a high-pitched whine for her daughter’s voice.

‘I was like, “Is it anything like Euphoria?”‘

Jerry also solicited some advice from Kelly on how to make his show the best it can be.

Her primary advice: ‘Be yourself.’

‘The reason that you are having this opportunity is because you know how to do this. So be yourself. Don’t let anybody make you anything that you’re not.

‘And when in doubt, just take a deep breath, otherwise you’re going to wind up like me for 10 years.

‘I look back at old shows and I’m talking to people my voice sounds like I’ve inhaled helium,’ she joked, raising the pitch of her voice into the stratosphere.

Chipmunk: Kelly advised Jerry to just be himself, reminiscing about how her voice used to sound like she’d swallowed helium because she was so nervous about conforming to expectations

Jerry also thanked Kelly for past advice she’d given him on delaying giving his children cell phones as long as possible.

The former soap star mimed a drooping graph to illustrate her contention that grades plummet as soon as kids get their first phone.

‘The phone becomes like the parent, the best friend, the social engagement. And now — and I hate to sound like a great-great-grandmother — but everyone’s self worth is wrapped up in the Gram, and Snapchat,’ she said.

‘Hold off as long as possible,’ she added. ‘Don’t let your kids tell you that it’s for emergencies.’

She even joked that she can’t get her daughter to answer the phone in the house when it’s right in her hand.

Exposed: After the break, Kelly shared with the audience that she’d seen Jerry shirtless before the show. She shared a clip to Instagram, joking that Jerry was going to ‘Free the nipple!!!’

Makes sense: The bashful new host explained that it’s because he wears so much makeup in front of the camera and doesn’t want to get it on his clothing
