EARLY DOORS came fast and late under Jonjo O'Neill Jr to land the Martin Pipe as the Cheltenham Festival came to a close.
The Joseph O'Brien-trained gelding showed a superior turn of foot to gun down the hot favourite Dallas Des Pictons.
In a rough race, it paid to avoid the scrum that saw the end of many chances around the home bend – and Early Doors did just that.
Given a wickedly patient ride by the hugely promising Jonjo O'Neill Jr, the JP McManus-owned gelding came from near last to first to run out an impressive winner.
Approaching the last, it looked for all the world as though hot favourite Dallas Des Pictons (7-2) would do the business – but he could only look on as the winner flew by.
The Gigginstown contender managed to stick on for second, with Defi Bleu (14-1) and Champagne Court (14-1) third and fourth respectively.
