Co-op is selling halloumi fries CRISPS for just £1

A decade ago, plenty of brits had never even heard of halloumi.

Let alone eat it in such quantities it puts a strain on Cypriot exports.

But the squeaky cheese is now a staple of many of our diets, and halloumi fries are a particular fave.

Now Co-op have upped the ante massively, introducing packs of halloumi fries CRISPS.

And the best bit is they’re only £1 for a 100g bag.

Explaining the product, Ursula Artjoki, a snack developer from the supermarket told Pretty52: “We’ve seen halloumi fries pop-up on many a restaurant menu over the past year.

“So, we wanted to put our Co-op spin on this trend and give our customers the chance to enjoy the popular flavour conveniently in a crisp offering.

“Co-op Halloumi Fries are a really moreish crowd-pleaser that won’t last long once the bag gets opened.”

Halloumi fries are popular with people with taste buds, but also particularly with both vegetarians and those on low carb diets, such as keto.

Aldi customers went wild for the store’s halloumi fries last year.

The tasty side dish flew off shelves as Brits scrambled to get their hands on some.

As the frenzy reached fever pitch, the supermarket had to implement a two packet per customer rule in a bid to stop bulk-buying.
