The Belgian winger has fuelled speculation of a world-record move to the Bernabeu by admitting Real are his “dream club”.
Hazard’s Chelsea contract expires in 2020 and he is yet to open talks over a new deal.
The ace insists he has no plans to quit Stamford Bridge in January after hitting top form under Maurizio Sarri.
But Hazard today joked that he needs to move to Spain in order to achieve his ultimate goal of winning the Ballon d’Or.
World Cup winner Rivaldo, who also helped Barcelona to two La Liga titles during a glittering career, reckons Hazard and Real are a perfect fit.
And he believes the Champions League holders need to make bringing Hazard to the Spanish capital a priority after failing to fill the void left behind by Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus switch.
Rivaldo told Betfair: “Real should be considering his signing, especially given their recent poor form and Hazard’s stated desire to play at the Bernabeu.
“This kind of move could be good for the club and fans, as the arrival of a top player would give a much needed boost after Ronaldo’s departure. Hazard is very talented, scores goals and assists a lot – he’s a spectacular player who I particularly appreciate.
“In my opinion, Hazard could play ever better at Real Madrid than in England as Spanish football gives a little more freedom to the players. So if he is already producing masterpieces in the Premier League, he could get even better in Spain.”
