Mourinho's one-time Inter keeper Cesar split the beans on astonishing comments the 56-year-old made about his then Real Madrid stopper Iker Casillas. in 2013
Portuguese manager Mourinho will be a pundit for DAZN's YouTube coverage when Brazilians Santos make their Copa Sudamericana debut in Tuesday night's first leg.
And it seems sure to bring back awkward memories from Brazil's 3-0 victory over Spain in the Confederations Cup final in Rio de Janeiro six years ago – when two of the most famous keepers ever to play under Mourinho faced off.
Cesar went public last year on Mourinho's bizarre intervention – in which the Brazilian criticised him for a tribute to Casillas and said the Brazilian had saved "more with one arm" than his Spanish counterpart.
Having been named the best stopper at the 2013 tournament in his home country, Cesar donned a Casillas shirt to pick up the prize.
He described his gesture to the Real icon – who at 37 is now playing for Porto – as "a tribute for everything he did".
But last year Cesar explained Mourinho's staggering text in an interview on the Selecao Sportv show.
The 39-year-old said: "When I got to the dressing room, I saw a message from Mourinho on my cell phone
"'You're crazy, it's Casillas who would have to put on your shirt and not you,' it read."And he told me that with only one arm I stopped more than Casillas."
The Spaniard popped to Brazil's dressing room to thank Cesar for his shirt tribute.
Cesar explained: "Iker went to the dressing room to talk to me and I told him to have a discussion with Mourinho, which is difficult but he had to face it.
"Mourinho likes to go face to face with the players who are considered stars in the teams that he coaches."
Perhaps Mourinho likes to show even his keeprs who the real No 1 is…
His debut for DAZN – who hold the international rights for the South American Cup will be presented by Mari Fontes.
