A young supporter waits patiently with a large sign asking for Joshua Kimmich's Bayern Munich shirt.
And the 24-year-old duly obliges as he heads over to the kid, ready to give him the souvenir of a lifetime.
After pointing him out in the crowd, Kimmich launches his shirt towards the fan but is left stunned at what happens next.
An ill-mannered adult fan leans over the boy and grabs the shirt from his hands before appearing to spin around in celebration, holding the swindled prize up in the air.
Fortunately for the boy, a number of adult fans nearby force him to hand the shirt back to the child.
He appears reluctant at first but after clocking eye contact with Kimmich, eventually passes the shirt on.
The man shrugs it off as an honest mistake and the child looks delighted to have something to treasure from the game.
The incident happened moments after Bayern Munich kept up the pressure on league leaders Borussia Dortmund with a 3-1 victory over Schalke on Saturday.
Kimmich wasn't the only player to be handing out freebies this weekend.
Manchester United's in-form star Paul Pogba also made a fan's day a memorable one after handing over his shirt following the 3-0 win over Fulham.
