Cannes Film Festival: Marion Cotillard stuns at Sink or Swim premiere

Leading ladies: Marion Cotillard (L) and Aishwarya Rai (R) led the glamour at the star-studded Sink Or Swim premiere during the 71st annual Cannes Film Festival on Sunday night

Marion first commanded attention in her stunning Chanel gown, which cinched in at her enviably slender waist with a glittering black corset.

The intricate gold dress featured a ruffled strapless bodice layered atop the lace-up middle, which extended down into a form-fitting straight skirt to flatter her figure.

The dress was also lined with black sequin piping across the neckline, before Marion herself accessorised with metallic gold shoes in keeping with the look’s glitzy feel.

She opted to forgo jewellery other than a large costume ring, and swept her sleek, straight hair away from her face to keep all eyes on her ensemble.

Marion Cotillard turned heads as she stepped out onto the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. The French actress was one a a kind in a customized version of a dress from Chanel's Spring 2014 Haute Couture collection.

The lowest layer of metallic ruffles was transformed into an ankle length skirt, turning the playful cocktail frock into an evening length gown in one move.

The ruffled tiers of fabric, the mini bow, the corset bodice… all hallmarks of the French feminine look. And we love the metallic sheen that captures the light!

Marion's dress was designed just for Cannes, but you can still steal the French ladylike look with one of our strapless and ruffled confections in the edit below.
