Cardi B donates 20k vegan meal supplement drinks to NYC area doctors, nurses and EMTs amid coronavirus pandemic

Cardi B recently had a health scare, taking to social media after checking herself into an emergency room on Wednesday.

So, it’s safe to say that the Grammy winner has an appreciation for healthcare professionals, especially amid the growing coronavirus pandemic.

She recently donated 20,000 bottles of OWYN, a vegan meal supplement drink, to New York City area hospitals for their medical staffs and ambulance crews, as they work the frontline of the pandemic.

The 27-year-old was one of the first celebs to call attention to the disease known as COVID-19, frequently talking about it on social media.

She joins the likes of Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively in making charitable contributions during the global crisis.

The donation comes shortly after the Bodak Yellow artist herself was hospitalized Tuesday for a non-coronavirus illness.

She shared a photo of her hospital ID bracelet in a now-deleted tweet, before clarifying the reason for her visit.

She also called out fellow celebs for getting COVID-19 tests when they have no symptoms.

During one recent video, Cardi said: ‘But if a celebrity is saying, “Hey, listen. I don’t have no symptoms. I’m feeling good. I’m feeling healthy. I don’t feel like nothing, but I went and got tested and I’m positive for the coronavirus,” that cause confusion.’

She added that ‘the general public, people that work regular jobs, people that get regular paychecks, the middle class, the poor … they’re not getting treated like celebrities.’
