For his part, erstwhile Love Island star Joshua hadn’t posted anything about the breakup on his own social media account, opting to instead share footage of himself partying with pals in Manchester on Saturday night.

Hours before announcing her split from Joshua, Charlotte alluded to romantic turbulence when she shared a quote online about relationships ending.

The telling quote, set against a black background, read: ‘Don’t be afraid of losing people, be afraid of losing yourself trying not to lose someone.’

Just days before their split was revealed, Charlotte boasted about the romantic bliss she was enjoying with Joshua, after leaving her beloved Newcastle to move in with him in Bolton back in August.

Gushing to The Mirror about how well they were getting along, she said: ‘We have learnt a lot more [since moving in together] and it’s been really, really good. We’re getting on so well, I think it’s brought us closer together.

‘We’ve had no arguments about cleaning and stuff, he’s so tidy, always doing the washing, it’s really been perfect.’

News of Charlotte’s split comes several months after she told MailOnline that she wanted Joshua to propose to her before their third anniversary as she admitted she got ‘excited’ when looking at wedding pictures.

While at the time she insisted that she was in no rush to walk down the aisle with hunky Joshua, she admitted: ‘I’ve definitely got a timescale. If he hasn’t proposed in three years, I think I’d be a bit worried.

Timescale: Earlier this year, Charlotte told MailOnline of wanting Joshua to propose, ‘I’ve definitely got a timescale. If he hasn’t proposed in three years, I think I’d be a bit worried’

‘After you’ve been with someone for three years, I think you know that it’s the person you wanna be with for the rest of your life, so you’ve gotta get a move on really.’

Charlotte sent fans wild in August last year, when she stated on Twitter that, while she had no ring on her finger, she was going to start planning her wedding.

When quizzed about her tweet, Charlotte told MailOnline: Obviously I get excited looking at wedding pictures and stuff.

‘But, I wouldn’t have the first clue of what I’d want or how I’d want it. There’s too many choices and it’s too much of a head battle.’

The former lovebirds first got together back in February 2018, shortly after her turbulent relationship with Stephen Bear came to an end. She also famously dated her former Geordie Shore co-star Gary ‘Gaz’ Beadle.
