Carrie Underwood will perform “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” with music legend Joan Jett during the new season of NBC‘s “Sunday Night Football.”
This is the seventh consecutive year that Underwood is returning for prime time television’s No. 1 program, while it will be the debut appearance for Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Jett.
Underwood will also be joined by NFL stars in the new show opener.
“I have always been a huge fan of Joan’s, and I’m thrilled that she’s joining us for the Sunday Night Football open,” the country superstar said.
She added, “What better way to pay homage to the original SNF opening song than by getting to play with her on primetime’s biggest stage.”
Jett’s Top 10 hit “I Hate Myself for Loving You” was adapted for the original “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” SNF show open music in 2006.
