During her GMB return, Kate revealed that David Beckham offered to do ‘anything’ he could in a sweet message of support amid her husband Derek’s COVID-19 battle.
The presenter said the former footballing ace, 45, reached out to ask if there was anyway he could help the family.
Kate admitted that just the fact he had been in touch meant so much, while she playfully quipped she should have asked for his wife Victoria’s wardrobe.
The TV presenter explained: ‘He did very sweetly contact me on Instagram.’
‘He asked if there was anything he could do to help and I was tempted to say ‘your Mrs wardrobe, that would be helpful’ on a joking level.
‘I just thought it was so sweet and I said to be honest just being able to tell Darcy and Billy you’d been in touch, so I said ‘you’ve helped enough thank you.’
Kate explained that she made a bit of a faux pas when David sent her kids a message, but when she watched one of the videos and it immediately deleted.

‘Fortunately he sent two, but Darcey didn’t get hers. I played it, then it was gone. I learnt the second time though.’

After being welcomed back by her colleagues, the presenter said: ‘Don’t be too nice because I’ll get emotional, just go back to being rude’.
Ben said: ‘It’s lovely having you back, back to work. First day back in quite a while’, adding ‘Nothing has gone wrong yet’.

Kate also revealed that she had a mini-makeover for her big return today, saying her hair was ‘a little blonder than we might be expecting’.
She added: ‘If ever there’s a professional crisis, fake tan, put very long false eyelashes on and go blonder. That was my preparation tactic for coming back this morning.’

Later on in the show presenter Lorraine Kelly also spoke of her joy at having her back, saying: ‘Kate I know you don’t want a big fuss but it is a joy to have you back.’
Last week, Kate said she was told six times that Mr Draper was not ‘going to make it’.
And she said: ‘Wonderfully his eyes are opening but we have no real knowledge of what he can see and feel and hear.’
She said at the time: ‘It’s great that there are some flickers of hope. His lungs are starting to recover a little bit, his kidneys are doing better, his liver is doing better, but they don’t know how much better it can get.’
Kate said during an interview with the ITV programme that her husband, who is receiving ongoing treatment, ‘sort of can’t wake up’ and doctors ‘don’t know how much better’ he will get.
Kate and Derek, a former lobbyist and political adviser, planned to renew their wedding vows before he became ill. The couple married in 2005.
