Coco Lodge has hit out at the off-screen behaviour of some of the male contestants of Love Island during her time on the show after they made belittling comments about her appearance.

The reality star, 27, was almost moved to tears as she recalled the moment she learned second hand that one of the original boys had described her as a ‘four out of 10’ when comparing her to her fellow female Islanders.

Speaking on The Murad Merali Podcast, Coco said: ‘There was comments made when the filming was off that I was a four out of 10 by some of the boys.’

When asked who had made the remarks, she added: ‘I don’t know who said it, Summer heard it.’

Coco added that one of the ‘original’ boys was overheard talking about her, with Coco describing the comments as ‘sexist’.

She said: ‘Yeah, you’re a four out of 10, Paige is a 12. I think they said it to Paige, I don’t really know.

Couple: Coco found a strong connection with Andrew Le Page who she had an intimate relationship with in Casa Amor

Harsh words: Coco says one of the ‘original’ boys made belittling comments about her appearance on the show, describing her as a ‘four out of 10’ – she did not name the boy

‘These comments were made and I had a really hard time in there as it was. I was crying a lot for the first few days.’

She went on to talk of the reaction viewers had to her appearance on social media after she left the island.

Coco admitted she did not expect people to be so negative after reading nasty comments from viewers online.

Upset: She went on to talk of the reaction she had about her appearance on social media after she left the island, admitting she was surprised how nasty viewers were

She said: ‘I didn’t expect it… it hurts to see because it’s about your appearance.

‘How I was perceived on the show isn’t my personality, they’ve edited me to look a certain way. But to comment about my appearance is honestly hurtful… They don’t choose the most flattering stuff.’

MailOnline has contacted a spokesperson for Love Island for comment.

It comes after Coco revealed her father called Love Island producers to intervene due to her mental health deteriorating during her time on the ITV dating show.

The influencer, who was dumped from the villa on July 15, has opened up about her ‘really hard’ experience in the villa.

The graphic designer admitted her journey was a struggle as she found her self ‘hyperventilating and crying loads’.

Speaking on FUBAR Radio’s Access All Areas: ‘When I was in the villa, apparently my Dad called the producers and was like, you need to show her full personality because what you’re showing is causing so much hate….you’re going to ruin my daughter’s mental health.’

Tough: The 27-year-old influencer, who was dumped from the villa on July 15, has opened up about her ‘really hard’ experience in the villa

When asked how she found her experience, Coco responded by saying it was a ‘rollercoaster.’

Coco initially had a spark with Davide who kissed her on the first night of Casa Amor.

Coco then found a strong connection with Andrew who she had an intimate relationship with and he recoupled with.

Upset: The graphic designer admitted her journey was a struggle as she found her self ‘hyperventilating and crying loads’

She continued: ‘The first day I went into Casa, that was so fun. Then obviously, having such a strong connection with someone so quickly. I never thought I could literally catch [feelings] in basically a day, but I was obsessed.’

Things soon ended when Tasha returned to the main villa and agreed to take Andrew back, despite his Casa Amor antics.

She said: ‘And it was so nice to have that connection with someone you get so close so quickly. Obviously, it didn’t work out. But that was a nice experience. Then I had the downfall of everything.’

Coco added: ‘It was actually really hard for me. What’s not shown on the edit of it is the fact that I was literally hyperventilating, crying loads, like I really, really struggled at first, not even just with Andrew but the girls, like some of them weren’t welcoming to begin with.’

The beauty then told hosts Bobby Norris and Stephen Leng: ‘We did not have sex, I mean he sucked on the tit, there was probably like arse groping and like, you know, maybe like bit of I don’t know rubbing against each other but that’s about it.’

Coca did admit that it was ‘quite hard to hold back’ and added: ‘It’s not great when you’re so sexually attracted to someone like it’s really hard to not get carried away.

‘I wish I just went the full way because the amount of hate I got anyway like I might as well have you know.’

Coca did admit that it was ‘quite hard to hold back’ and added: ‘It’s not great when you’re so sexually attracted to someone like it’s really hard to not get carried away’

‘You don’t really see people switching from people to people in there, just because I think they’re so concerned about getting to the end and you know, getting their clothing deal.’

In response to Woman’s Aid speaking to ITV producers about ‘controlling and misogynistic behaviour’ in the villa, Coco said: ‘I think being in there, it’s very different to the edited version of the show you see, a

‘And I think people could take some of the behaviour controlling however, when you’re in there, and you see how someone is like 24/7 I think like that is not the case personally. Everyone gets on really well.’
