After Céline Dion‘s music video for her new song from “Deadpool 2” featured a dancing Deadpool in heels, Ryan Reynolds took to Instagram to clear up any confusion that he was the one with the moves.
“Ever wonder, ‘How does Ryan Reynolds dance so beautifully? Did he have 8 bones surgically removed from his body in order to move as if a graceful swan had sex with Fred Astaire?’ The answer may surprise you,” the actor, who plays Deadpool on the big screen, wrote in an Instagram caption alongside a photo of himself and his dancing double. “Yes. I did have 8 bones removed from my body. But the dancing was all @yanismarshall.”
He continued, “This man is not just a dancer… he’s an elite athlete, hero, and all around hilarious person. Follow him on Instagram. Put him in movies. Throw confetti at his feet when you see him. He is a gift to this weary world.”
The “Ashes” music video, which debuted on Thursday, features the Marvel anti-hero dancing around Dion as she gives an extremely powerful performance.
“You can seriously work it in those heels. I’m jealous,” one fan wrote to Reynolds on Twitter. Another requested, “I need to see @VancityReynolds do the dance number from Ashes without the suit on. Please.”
Yanis Marshall, the real dancing Deadpool, is a French dancer who got his start posting videos on YouTube. He was a finalist on “Britain’s Got Talent” in 2014 and is currently working on a secret project with RuPaul and Ellen Pompeo.
