But Saira Khan defied the limitations of her favourite role, as the mother-of-two sizzled in racy lingerie on Wednesday and prioritised ‘me time’ to feel sexy again.
The Loose Women panellist, 50, candidly discussed feeling irrelevant and overlooked since becoming a mother, as she stripped down from her everyday clothes to her negligee in a liberating before-and-after video.

At the beginning of the Instagram clip, Saira cut a casual figure in a jumper and maxi patterned skirt, which she paired with chunky trainers.
She chopped vegetables on her kitchen counter before breathing a sigh of exhaustion, before the video transformed to reveal Saira in her bedroom.
She displayed her sensational curves in a nude harness bra from lingerie brand, Figleaves, which featured lace detailing and matched her high-waist briefs.

The mother-of-two styled her tresses in a chic bob, and wore a glamorous make-up look as she spritzed perfume over her skin and perched on the edge of her bed.
Saira exuded femininity, but she admitted it hasn’t always been a priority for her, as she captioned the video: ‘Being a mama is the best job in the world, but my goodness it’s also the most knackering and the least sexiest.
‘We’re cooks, cleaners, counsellors, chauffeurs, carers, teachers, party planners and well sometimes I’ve even felt like a cart horse with the amount of bags I’ve had to carry to and from school drop off and pick up.

‘In those early years of being a mama I felt knackered all the time. I was there for everyone else and put myself and my needs last.
‘At times I felt invisible, irrelevant and overlooked and I didn’t feel very feminine, especially as my body had changed after pregnancy.’
Saira- who shares children Zacharia and Amara with her husband Steve- realised that to help others, you have to help yourself first.
She added: ‘But the biggest lesson I’ve learnt from my journey as a mum is that you can look after your family and yourself at the same time.

‘Squeezing in some ME TIME is essential for every mama’s mental health – whether it’s having a coffee with your mates, going for a walk, having your nails done, buying yourself a nice piece of lingerie, whatever makes you happy – do it, love it and enjoy it.
‘When I took time out, I felt guilty and selfish- but I really needed to do it to feel like a woman again, remind myself that I am more than a mum and that I have needs and wants too.
‘So for all the hardworking mamas- you are doing an amazing job and never forget to make an effort for yourself.
‘If you gonna be a mama – be one hot damn sexy one!’
