Serena Williams won the 2017 Australian Open while pregnant, and told Page Six of the victory at the premiere of her HBO Sports documentary: “I just felt like beast mode. I put the baby through so much and I felt like only a woman can undergo this stress, so that is how I felt it had to be a girl.”
She added at the Tribeca premiere of “Being Serena: Her Story. Her Words” on Wednesday, “I felt some guilt . . . but I saw my doctors before and they said I was fine. Women have won marathons and stuff while pregnant. So once my doctor gave me the OK, I felt confident. But before I was nervous like, ‘Should I?’ ”
The documentary airs Wednesday.
