Meghan’s facialist reveals the £50 face mask she gives her clients on their big day – and why brides should stick to their usual beauty routine in the weeks before the wedding

She’s the facialist to the stars, including royal bride-to-be Meghan Markle – who will no doubt be seeking her advice ahead of her big day.

And now, Nichola Joss has revealed the pre-wedding preparation she swears by – including a £50 mask by Decléor that she gives to her clients on the morning of the wedding.

The London-based facialist advises not trying any new products or treatments in the four weeks before the wedding, which suggests Meghan will have been sticking to her tried-and-tested beauty routine.

Nichola emphasised the importance of having a good daily skincare regime – ensuring that you double cleanse and massage your face every day.

Speaking to FEMAIL, Nichola recommended that brides use a mask on the morning of the wedding to ensure that their skin is glowing. 

She said she gives her clients Decléor’s Prolagène Lift Contouring Lift Firm Mask to use first thing. 

‘What a gentle facial will do is encourage good facial contours, get rid of any puffiness, keep the lights of the eyes nice and sparkly,’ she explained.

‘The mask I give the majority of my clients is a really great mask by Decléor- it’s a one-minute lifting facial mask.

Nichola also said brides-to-be shouldn’t alter their regular skincare routine in the four weeks ahead of the wedding. 

What you don’t want to do is look at anything that’s new, that you haven’t tried before,’ she explained.

 ‘I certainly wouldn’t look at doing anything aggressive or invasive – I’d stay away from things like injectables, especially on those last few weeks. 

Nichola emphasised the importance of having a good daily skincare regime – which should include massaging your face every day 

‘You definitely want to be very gentle on your skin. Massage your skin every day, to remove any tensions and stress. 

‘Ideally you want a massage routine within your skincare, using balms, oils and natural products which will really help to calm and nourish the skin.’ 

Nichola, who also counts Kate Moss and Jennifer Lopez, among her clients has become known for her ‘inner-mouth massage’, which addresses sagging muscles through deep lymphatic massage and contouring techniques. 

Meghan has previously credited the technique – which sees Nichola put her fingers inside a client’s mouth to manipulate the skin on the inner-cheek – with helping to sculpt and tone her cheekbones. 

Nichola Joss’s simple guide to an effective daily skincare regime

Meghan’s facialist Nichola Joss recommends that people think about their daily routine in three stages: 

1. Morning. In the morning, you should do a cleanse to remove your night and to open up the face and awaken the system, remove any puffiness. You should then use a toner and your actives – your serums and any anti-pollution products.

2. Evening. When you come home from the day, it’s really important to immediately cleanse off your day. You should double cleanse to ensure that you get through to your skin. After that, put on your actives again, and let them do their work throughout the evening. 

3. Before bed. At bedtime, you should spend even just a couple of minutes with a massaging facial oil, massaging you skin to remove your tension and your stress, and stimulate the lymphatic system. This will get your skin prepared for your body to sleep, so your skin can function at its optimum.
