IT WAS all smiles as Manchester United won on the opening day against Chelsea.

Ole's men might have had a relatively quiet summer, but their new signings Harry Maguire, Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka all looked the part in the 4-0 rout at Old Trafford – while Joel Pereira is set to move to Scotland on loan.

  • LIVERPOOL, Tottenham and Manchester City are facing more frustration over the early transfer window closure.

The three clubs have been the loudest voices urging Premier League chiefs to align their deadline with the rest of Europe, where clubs had up to 24 more days to trade.

England’s date was brought forward after protests from bosses such as City’s Pep Guardiola about the uncertainty caused by the September cut-off.

In November, a vote to revert to the previous deadline saw only nine of the 20 top-flight clubs in favour.

Even if Liverpool and Spurs, for example, have swapped sides — and the managers’ views may not be shared at board level — it needs 14 clubs to agree a change of rules.

No new vote has been scheduled although a debate is expected.

Acting Prem chief exec Richard Masters will leave it to the clubs to decide — but there is a feeling from some that they should not be “bullied” by the Big Six.

  • EXCLUSIVE by Neil Custis: ALEXIS SANCHEZ faces being banished to Manchester United’s reserves unless he agrees to a move abroad.

Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to get rid of the £505,000-a-week flop before the European transfer window closes on September 2.

Roma want him on loan but refuse to pay his huge salary and the Old Trafford side may have to share the burden to get him out.

Otherwise, United will have to fork out another £8.6MILLION in wages until the January transfer window on a player Solskjaer does not want in the first team.

Solskjaer has not been keen on the Chilean forward since day one, having watched from afar as he failed to spark for United.

Sanchez proved to be a negative influence behind the scenes too during Jose Mourinho’s reign.

The former Arsenal player, 30, was also involved in a furious training-ground bust-up with United kid Mason Greenwood after returning from the Copa America.

  • AS of this week, Alexis Sanchez will have banked £41MILLION in wages from Manchester United.

That works out at £8.2m for each of the five goals he has scored for the club since switching from Arsenal in January 2018.

To say Manchester City dodged a bullet is a real understatement.

Alarm bells should have been ringing at Old Trafford when it was clear Sanchez was going to the club that would pay him the most.

They certainly did at the Etihad, which is why they left the way open for his move to the red half of the City.

  • MANCHESTER UNITED have NO intention of selling Paul Pogba to Real Madrid.

According to ESPN, the Red Devils will not accept any bids for the French midfielder between now and September 2.

Pogba fuelled speculation he could still depart Old Trafford following the 4-0 win against Chelsea.

He told reporters that there is still a question mark over his future.

  • THE Manchester United fans have clearly taken to Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
