ESPN is now all-in with Alex Rodriguez

“Sunday Night Baseball” and Fox’s postseason studio show and award galas with Jennifer Lopez aren’t the only times you’ll see Alex Rodriguez. The former Yankees star will host a four-part interview series on ESPN titled “Pivot,” the Worldwide Leader announced Tuesday.

“In each episode of Pivot, Rodriguez will conduct an in-depth, one-on-one interview with a current or former star athlete who is navigating through obstacles in their life and career,” read the press release announcing the show. “Rodriguez will use his personal experiences to lead an unfiltered, dynamic discussion about the changing phenomenon of life in the public eye and to help these athletes share their side of the story regarding their challenges.”

The show is set to air during the current baseball season, per the release.

Rodriguez has gone from baseball prodigy to pariah to the prodigal son, the legend apparently successfully returning to good graces.

Before he was redeemed, getting his side of the story out was a challenge for Rodriguez in New York, as he memorably stormed into Mike Francesa’s studio in 2013 after being suspended for a year over his link to Biogenesis and PEDs. Rodriguez has rehabilitated his image since then, thanks in large part to his roles as an analyst on both Fox and ESPN. Now, it seems he’ll use that goodwill to try to do the same for others.
