ENGLAND fans went wild as Ben Stokes staged a heroic one man stand to lead England to a historic Ashes comeback at Headingley.
The Durham ace smashed an outstanding 135 off 219 balls to tie the series 1-1 in a victory that will go down as one of the greatest of all time.
Streets and pubs across the country were flooded as thousands waved flags and sprayed champagne to celebrate the nailbiting victory.
Piers Morgan lead the tributes to "legend" Stokes – and dubbed the innings cricket's greatest ever.
He wrote: "Greatest innings in the history of cricket @benstokes38 #Legend."
