Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is quarantining after coming into contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, according to a report.

The news follows a Tuesday holiday party at the State Department that reportedly suffered from poor attendance amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Pompeo, 56, likely will be missing from a cabinet meeting Wednesday at the White House due to the precautionary isolation.

The State Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Post, and CNN reported it was unclear when Pompeo was exposed.

According to the Daily Mail, Pompeo did not speak at the State Department’s Tuesday holiday party after fewer than 70 people showed up, despite 900 invitations going out. The party was for the family members of diplomats stationed overseas.

Pompeo is known for his enjoyment of hosting at the department, and came under fire from Democrats for throwing elaborate “Madisonian” dinners.

The top diplomat is a former CIA director and former Kansas congressman. He is one of President Trump’s closest cabinet members, often lunching with the president, and has openly expressed interest in a potential future presidential campaign of his own.
