Southwest plane ‘forced to make emergency landing after window blown out’

A Southwest Airlines plane has been forced to make an emergency landing after a window was blown out, it has been claimed.

Photographs of a smashed window emerged as a passenger claimed the Southwest Flight 957 from Midway to Newark this morning had to land in Cleveland, US.

Travellers were allegedly told to get off the plane with their belongings and board another aircraft.

A spokesperson from the FAA told CNN the plane had landed safely in Cleveland, after a report of an issue with a window.

This comes just weeks after a woman was killed when she was sucked out of a Southwest Airlines plane.

Jennifer Riordan, 43, was pulled through a window shattered by shrapnel after one of the Boeing 737’s engine’s exploded at 30,000 feet.

The mum-of-two’s cause of death was blunt impact trauma to her head, neck and torso, it was confirmed.
