While the rest of Hollywood is going Barbie blond, Halle Berry is one step ahead. After debuting her buzzed bixie haircut and blond bangs at the Critics’ Choice Awards in March, Berry has been “busy busy” testing out new styles and colors, leaving us convinced that there’s no look she can’t pull off. On Aug. 6, the “Moonfall” star backed the theory when she shared photos of her new asymmetrical shag cut, complete with a purple curl hair color, on Instagram.
“I know I look like I’m doing nothing but my hair is quite busy,” Berry captioned a set of selfies showing off her violet highlights. To contrast the almost iridescent curls, Berry left the underside of her bixie undercut an inky black. The finished product — which earned a fire emoji from Julianne Moore in the comments section — is an edgy look straight off of a punk-rock beauty board.
With a new set of colorful curls to style, Berry reminds us that her latest look isn’t the only time she’s played around with her hair color. The star has had various shades of brown, black, and auburn over the years, but she diverged from her signature light brown hair in 2017. While promoting her thriller film, “Kidnap,” Berry debuted a set of Y2K-inspired highlights that foreshadowed her most recent violet shag look. After the red carpet, she shared photos from the event on Instagram, giving us an up-close peek at her purple-pink highlights — a great look then and now.
