The holy grail of makeup products? It has to be mascara.
If there is one makeup product to bring you back to the land of the living, it’s the magic wand. One or two swipes have you looking flirty and fabulous. Three or more mean business.
Because mascara is such an important element of a makeup kit, the search for ‘the one’ is never-ending.
Even when you do find an option that could be a long-term commitment, your eyes and ears are always on alert. There could always be something better and more exciting on the horizon and with new makeup launches every week, it’s all about playing the field.
While before we kept a close eye on magazines and YouTube uploads for must-have makeup goodness, now it’s all about TikTok. One viral hit on the app can change the business trajectory for a product or business.
And the latest beauty sensation is a mascara that appears to give even the shortest and most sparse of lashes a boost.
Maybelline’s Lash Sensational Sky High mascara promises to volumize and extend every single lash from root to tip for a limitless length look.
Costing only £9.99, the mascara is a steal and according to TikTok, it’s the new ‘it’ product.
The video that started the hype was posted by @jessica.c.eid, with whom Maybelline partnered to promote the mascara.
Since then, there have been a load of videos focused on the product, with 1.8 million views currently on the hashtag.

Judging by the videos and the accompanying reaction, the mascara does what is says on the tin. Even very short and thin lashes are left full, fluffy and long.

Due to its TikTok fame, the mascara has sold out in America, but fortunately for us here in the UK, Superdrug and Boots have it in stock.
And it is going straight into our baskets.
