Arsenal and Tottenham set for Lautaro Martinez transfer battle and can land Inter Milan strike sensation for £67m

ARSENAL and Tottenham are set to battle it out to sign Lautaro Martinez this summer.

And the Inter Milan star could be available for around £67million.

The North London rivals may both be in the transfer market for a new centre-forward come the end of the season – with whoever gets Champions League football in pole position.

Harry Kane is Antonio Conte's only genuine No9 – and his future is unclear.

Arsenal let Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leave and both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract this June.

So according to Calciomercato, both clubs have Martinez on their radar.

The report adds the San Siro giants accept no player is bigger than the club – as proven by Romelu Lukaku's sale last year.

Therefore for the right price, Martinez could also leave.

The 24-year-old is desperate to help fire the Nerazzurri to back-to-back Serie A titles this season.

Simone Inzaghi's side are currently third, three points off leaders AC Milan and Napoli.

Martinez has 14 league goals this term, two more than Edin Dzeko.

The Argentine only signed a new contract in October, tying him down with Inter until 2026.

He is said to be happy and settled in Milan but the report suggests he could be open to a move.

Conte is keen to be reunited with him at Spurs following their success together in Italy while Mikel Arteta would no doubt relish having the 37-cap ace lead his attack – although Paulo Dybala could be another option for the Gunners.

Atletico Madrid may also be in the race for Martinez's signature.

He no longer has a release clause in his Inter contract but the club would want at least £67m.

No official bids have been received at this stage, though.
