Usmanov homes raided
German police have raided dozens of houses linked to Vladimir Putin's crony Alisher Usmanov amid a money laundering probe.
Russian oligarch Usmanov, who enjoyed close ties to Premier League clubs Everton and Arsenal, is at the centre of two separate investigations into his finances in Germany.
The businessman was a shareholder at the Gunners from 2007 to 2018.
Prosecutors in Frankfurt and Munich stated raids had targeted a Russian businessman suspected of having used his "extensive and complex network of companies and corporations" to disguise the origins of several transactions of funds between 2017 and 2022.
The transactions are believed to have amounted to a "multi-digit-million-euro sum", a statement read.
The Munich state prosecutor said raids were carried out at the residence of a Russian citizen along with four other suspects.
Authorities named the suspect only as a Russian businessman, but two officials involved in the investigation, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed Usamanov's identity to The Associated Press.

Large majority of fans want Southgate OUT
An astonishing 83-per-cent of England fans want Gareth Southgate OUT with just one game to go before the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
The Three Lions were relegated from their Nations League group following a 1-0 loss to Italy at the San Siro.
Giacomo Raspadori's second half strike was the difference.
To make matters worse, England are without a win in five games and haven't scored a goal in open play in over 450 minutes of football. It's also England's worst run in 22 years.
All of this, of course, is unfolding just months ahead of a World Cup that not long ago England were considered one of the favourites to win.
And England have just one more game to prepare for Qatar, which is against rivals Germany at Wembley on Monday.
But ahead of England's meeting with the Germans, 83-per-cent of Three Lions fans want Southgate GONE, according to a SunSport Twitter poll.
Southgate and Co were booed at the San Siro after the final whistle, but the boss feels the performance was a "step in the right direction".
He said: "I personally felt the performance was a step in the right direction. But I appreciate because of the result that won't be the reaction."

Partey over just before starting
Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey was ruled out of Ghana's international friendly against Brazil on Friday just THREE MINUTES before kick-off despite being named in the starting line-up.
Partey, 29, was set to start for the Black Stars ahead of their clash with Brazil in France.
But, just a few minutes before kick-off he was forced to withdraw after picking up a knock in the warm-up.
Mallorca star Baba Idrissu stepped in to replace the Arsenal man, but Ghana did not disclose any information about the potential issue.
The fresh injury blow could mean that Partey is now a doubt for Arsenal's huge grudge match against Tottenham.
But many fans are not surprised given his recent injury record.
Some took to Twitter to react, with one person writing: "Shock horror. Madness Ghana wanted to play him when he’s been out for a month already."
Another added: "Just back from injury and gets re-injured on international duty. Livid." A third said: "Same old same old."
Partey has already missed three games for Arsenal so far this season due to a knee issue.

Ben deserves England spot
Ben White is deserving of a place in the England squad, according to one Arsenal legend.
Nigel Winterburn has once again been impressed with the performances of the Gunners defender, even though he has begun this season at right-back following the emergence of William Saliba.
And the former Highbury star is at a loss to explain why Gareth Southgate has overlooked the 24-year-old.
“I am surprised, but I never try to predict what England managers do with players,” Winterburn said in conversation with FreeSuperTips.
“But I am surprised. He was initially in the last squad so if he was in the last England squad, I don’t understand why he wouldn’t be in this squad.
“Ben White hasn’t made that many appearances for England so I would think he deserves a look in – especially when you see some of the players in that squad and the club form they are currently producing.
“There is going to be a lot of debate over the next ten days, especially if England don’t pick up their form in the next two games.
“It’s going to be interesting watching those games and the reaction of the supporters during and perhaps after.”
