Best combined USA and Canada XI with World Cup qualification almost sealed including Pulisic, Davies and David

CANADA have already booked their place at the World Cup later this year with a sensational qualifying campaign.

John Herdman's side have topped the North/Central American table with eight wins, four draws and just one loss from their 13 matches so far.

And USA are closing in on sealing their place in Qatar with one match remaining as they occupy the second automatic spot, sitting above Mexico on goal difference.

They do play fourth place Costa Rica in their final qualification game, so they need to win that to avoid dropping down to third and being forced to face the fifth place South American side in a play-off.

Nevertheless, the story of the qualification process is Canada reaching their first finals since 1986.

And they have a host of players who would make it into USA's starting line-up.

These include Bayern Munich star full-back/winger Alphonso Davies who has been unable to feature since the turn of the year due to a heart condition.

He often acts as a left winger for the national team and links up well with star striker Jonathan David.

The Lille striker has already netted 17 times in 39 appearances so far this season and is being linked with a big money move to the Premier League.

Other key players include Porto midfielder Stephen Eustaquio and Nottingham Forest defender Richie Laryea.

Basel forward Liam Miller, SSV Jahn Regensburg centre-back Scott Kennedy and Reading winger Junior Hoilett also feature for the flourishing Canadians.

Meanwhile, USA also boast a host of talent which looks set to grace the World Cup later this year.

Man City's back-up keeper Zack Steffen is in between the sticks for the Americans, flanked by Barcelona full-back Sergino Dest and ex-Newcastle man DeAndre Yedlin.

Hoffenheim centre-back Chris Richards is a solid defensive presence, while Juventus' Weston McKennie provides the team with creativity from midfield.

RB Leipzig man Tyler Adams often partners McKennie in the middle of the park, but it is in the forward areas where the USA really come into their own.

Their talisman is still Chelsea star Christian Pulisic – who struck a hat-trick for the Americans on Sunday as they thrashed Panama 5-1.

And he is supported in the attacking areas by Borussia Dortmund prodigy Giovani Reyna.

The 19-year-old scored seven times and provided eight assists for the Bundesliga giants last season, but has spent much of this campaign sidelined through injury.
