BORUSSIA DORTMUND's title hopes were stung, drawn and slaughtered – after firefighters dashed in to tackle a BEE invasion.
The flying raiders replaced Bayern Munich as Dortmund's swarm enemy as they covered TV camera gear at the home Bundesliga clash with Mainz.
And those fans worried it was a bad omen might feel they were proved right.
Dortmund were held to a dramatic 2-2 draw – meaning Bayern took their 11th crown in a row on goal difference via a late 2-1 win at Cologne.
Many supporters noted the bees were in home colours, although one sceptic claimed the intruders were flies disguised as fans!
Firefighters were forced to carry out the infested TV equipment ahead of kick off.

And one pessimist posted: "If that isn’t symbolic in some way, I don’t know what is."
He obviously felt Dortmund needed some sting special to dethrone Bayern – and he was correct, with England's Jude Bellingham watching on in anguish and in vain as an unused sub.
Another viewer said of the bees: "They got good seats too. Shame they're getting re-seated."
It feels like buzz light years since Dortmund won the title – it was in fact in 2012 under Jurgen Klopp.
