'Constant threats for all of us' – Jurgen Klopp reveals Liverpool will NOT sign unvaccinated players in transfer window

JURGEN KLOPP has issued a jabs warning to Liverpool transfer targets in the January window.

The Reds boss said he would think twice about signing unvaccinated players as the Omicron variant wreaks havoc in the Premier League.

SIX games have been postponed this weekend due to positive Covid tests and Klopp warned stars who refuse the jab pose a threat to the rest of the squad.

He said: “I think (being vaccinated) will be influential, definitely, in who clubs sign.

“If a player is not vaccinated at all, he is a constant threat for all of us.

“He doesn't want to be a threat, it's not that he thinks 'I don't care about the others' but he is.”

The top flight schedule has been thrown into disarray after a wave of Covid outbreaks at training grounds across the country.

Debate is raging about the freedom of players to choose whether or not they should get the jab.

Liverpool are due to face Tottenham in Sunday’s late kick-off, with the game still due to go ahead despite Spurs’ recent virus nightmare.

And Klopp revealed the chaos that comes with trying to accommodate unvaccinated players among the wider squad.

He said: “From an organisational point of view, it gets really messy. “We'd have to find different scenarios.

“He has to change in a different dressing room, he has to eat in a different dining room, he has to sit in a different bus, he has to drive in a different car.

“If you really want to follow the protocols, it is incredibly difficult to do.

“If we have to travel to a country to play international football and we come back, he has to get self-isolated, all these kind of things. Of course, it is going to be influential (in signing).

“We have to do all these kind of things, like building extra buildings for unvaccinated players and it will not happen. Hopefully it will not be necessary in the future.”
