Everton agree £20m fee to Napoli and Italy international striker Manolo Gabbiadini

EVERTON are on the verge of signing Napoli striker Manolo Gabbiadini after reportedly agreeing a £20million fee.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is keen to add further goalscoring potential to his side before Wednesday's 11pm deadline with minor concerns over Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian forward hasn't hit the back of the net in the Premier League since March and Koeman wants to relieve pressure off the towering target man.

And according to talkSPORT, Everton will look to bolster their side by signing Italy international Gabbiadini.

Napoli are thought to be willing to let the 24-year-old leave having made just four league starts last campaign.

He was included in the starting line-up for Napoli's first match of the season but was hooked off after 53 minutes and failed to get on the pitch in the following victory against AC Milan.

A host of Premier League sides including West Ham and Stoke have been taking an interest in Gabbiadini but they bulked over the £20m price-tag.

However with deadline day looming, Koeman has matched Napoli's asking price and will hope to conclude the deal before 11pm on Wednesday.

Everton were linked with a shock move for Liverpool's Mario Balotelli but the deal failed to gather any wheels.
