Fans in hysterics as they realise who Liverpool's top Prem goalscorer is since the World Cup after horrendous run | The Sun

FANS are in hysterics after discovering who Liverpool's top Premier League goalscorer is since the World Cup.

The Reds' disastrous form in 2023 continued as they slipped to a 3-0 defeat at Wolves on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp's side have now collected just one point from their last four league matches and are a massive 11 points behind the top four.

They've also gone more than FIVE hours without scoring since Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain struck at Brentford on 2 January.

Overall, Liverpool have found the net only six times in as many games since football returned after the break for the World Cup.

Alongside Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Stefan Bajcetic have all scored once.

It means that the Reds' top scorer during that period is actually Leicester defender Wout Faes, who scored two own goals in the game at Anfield in late-December.

That one statistic perhaps highlights Liverpool's problems up front right now and fans on social media simply cannot believe it.

A second said: "Class signing tbh."

And it doesn't get any easier for Klopp's men either with their next three games against Everton, Newcastle and Real Madrid, while they also host Manchester United early next month.
