Horse racing tips: Templegate backs in-form sprinter to hit the target again at Thirsk on Saturday

TEMPLEGATE takes on Saturday's racing and heads to Thirsk for his NAP of the day.

Read on to find out his top tips on a busy day of action around the country.

GHATHANFAR (1.10 Thirsk, nap)

Came back to turf with a convincing success at Thirsk last time out.

He relished the fast ground when tanking along before hitting the front and powering away inside the final furlong. That was a good performance and the clock backed it up as his time was really good for the grade

The ground was on the fast side, as it is today, and this reliable five-year-old can give us another good run.

RUKWA (11.55 Bangor, nb)

He has gone up just 1lb for a cosy win at Huntingdon last time.

He had just over a length in hand crossing the line but there looked to be plenty in the petrol tank.

Rider Tom Midgley was in the saddle that day and he brings his 7lb claim with him again, which can make all the difference.

This trip and good ground suits and he doesn’t need improvement to strike once more.

THRONE HALL (1.40 Thirsk, treble)

He is bred to be more than a handicapper and looked classy when striking at Doncaster on comeback last month.

Despite being a four-year-old he was still green on Town Moor and improved as the race went on. There was lots left crossing the line so this extra quarter-mile should be right up his street.

The handicapper has upped him for that success but not enough to stop him following up.
