After Juventus beat Lokomotiv Moscow 2-1 to secure their qualification from Champions League Group D on Wednesday, Bonucci posted a photo of the team celebrating.

He captioned it: "First seasonal goal achieved. Let's enjoy this victory because from games won in this way there is only to learn.

"From tomorrow we think about the championship."

And Pogba was quick to reply with a supportive message that simply read: "Capitanooooooooooo," with several heart eye emojis.

The reply received more than 12,000 likes and more than 1,500 replies with fans begging him to re-join the Italian giants.

After the furore online, Italian outlet TuttoSport added fuel to the fire suggesting the Serie A champions have the ability to pull off the complicated transfer.

Despite not wanting Pogba to go, the report claims United would demand £130million for the Frenchman who is approaching the final year of his five-year £290k-a-week deal.

United are unlikely to lower their valuation but TuttoSport also note that even at the £100m Juventus may be willing to spend, United would still make a profit on the £89m they paid to bring Pogba back from Turin in 2016.

Javier Ribalta – a scout who worked for both clubs in the past – also claimed Pogba is "destined" to leave Old Trafford if they do not secure Champions League football for next season.

When asked whether Pogba would return to Juve, Ribalta said: "I would bet a pizza with a friend on Pogba’s return.”
