Man City star Benjamin Mendy unearths club's latest wonderkid in 'baby shark' Rabbi Matondo ahead of Uefa Youth League clash

MANCHESTER CITY have the next “baby shark” playing tomorrow against Barcelona in the Uefa Youth League semi-final.

Rabbi Matondo, 17, has been given the nickname by Benjamin Mendy after the £50million star’s comeback in an Under-23s game.

Mendy has taken the Wales youngster under his wing and calls him “baby” in the Shark Team that has gobbled up the rest of the Premier League.

He has also given the nickname to fellow City youngster Phil Foden, who has broken into the first-team.

And Matondo is set to feature against the Under-19 clash despite being from a younger age group.

Pep Guardiola had Matondo training with the first team earlier in the season, while keeper Daniel Grimshaw travelled with the Carabao Cup final squad.

Both are expected to play against Barca in Nyon, Switzerland, with the winners playing Porto or Chelsea.

Simon Davies’ youngsters reached the last four after winning on penalties against Liverpool and Inter Milan.
