Man Utd have second highest club attendance in world football as 52 best supported clubs are revealed

MANCHESTER UNITED boast the second-highest club attendance in world football.

Old Trafford has seen an average attendance of 75,218 between 2013 and 2018 – good enough for second in the standings.

United only trail German giants Borussia Dortmund – whose fans are famed for their incredible Yellow Wall – on 80,230 fans per game on average.

The news comes thanks to research from the CIES Football Observatory – who raked in numbers from 51 leagues across the planet.

Also in the top ten for average attendance were Arsenal – sitting seventh with 59,793.

But the standings were dominated by German sides, with FIVE of the top ten coming from the Bundesliga.

GERMANY ON TOP

As well as leaders Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Schalke, Hamburg and Stuttgart all ranked at the top of the table.

Manchester City (50,864) and Newcastle (50,721) came in 13th and 14th, with Celtic (49,697) and Rangers (49,054) the only other British clubs in the top 20.

Liverpool (47,861) came in 21st, ahead of the likes of Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-German, West Ham, AC Milan, Chelsea and Tottenham in the top 40.

Incredibly, Sunderland – in the THIRD tier of English football – ranked 38th in the world with an average attendance of 39,249.
