MANCHESTER UNITED will begin life under new manager Erik ten Hag with their first pre-season tour in three years ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

The Red Devils will play six games in 20 days, across four different countries this summer – starting with a trip to Thailand to take on bitter rivals Liverpool.


United haven't embarked on a proper pre-season tour since 2019 as the coronavirus pandemic stopped the club from travelling freely.

But this summer will see them play six matches as they visit Thailand, Australia and Norway before returning to Manchester.

These fixtures with give Ten Hag, as well as his assistant coaches Steve McClaren and Mitchell van der Gaag, valuable insight into the club's squad ahead of an important season.

Who will Man Utd face on their pre-season tour?

United will begin their 2022 tour on July 12 in the Thailand capital of Bangkok where they will face arch-rivals Liverpool.

They then travel to Australia for two matches in Melbourne, against local side Melbourne Victory on July 15 and then Crystal Palace on July 19.

They're then off to Perth to take on Premier League side Aston Villa before hopping on a plane to Norway for a fixture against Atletico Madrid in Oslo.

Finally, Ten Hag will take to the dugout at Old Trafford for the very first for their final game on the schedule against Spanish side Rayo Vallecano.

When does Man Utd's Premier League campaign start?

Fixtures for the 2022/23 Premier League season will be officially released on June 16, although they've have already been 'leaked' online.

An image recently emerged on Twitter supposedly showing the first eight match days of the season, with ten Hag's rumoured first competitive game being tough trip to Wolves.

Their first home clash will be against money-bags Newcastle.
