'No point going back to just sit on bench' – Brandon William hints at Man Utd transfer exit after Norwich loan

MANCHESTER United ace Brandon Williams has hinted at an Old Trafford exit after his loan stint at Norwich ends.

Williams joined the Canaries on a season-long loan last summer due to the lack of first-team football opportunities with United.

The left-back has amassed a total of 26 appearances across all competitions this season and is loving life at Carrow Road.

So much so that the 21-year-old insists there would be no point going back to the Red Devils just to sit on the bench.

That suggests the England Under-21 international is not willing to rejoin United in May without asking any questions.

Williams told Jamie Redknapp for the Daily Mail: "I'm playing games now and I love it. I can't wait for the weekend so I can get to the stadium.

"There would be no point in me going back to United and just sitting on the bench.

"I want to play and feel I'm better equipped for the Premier League after this experience.

"Whether it's at United or somewhere else, we'll deal with that in the summer. But I've got a job to do here at Norwich."

Williams asked to leave United on loan himself after realising minutes would be scarce this season.

The defender had only one goal in mind before moving to Norfolk and that was to prove he is a "Premier League player".

Williams added: "My first season with United was great. I played 36 games, 17 in the Premier League.

"Then lockdown came. We went into the new season after a very short break and from there, Luke [Shaw] was on fire and Alex [Telles] had just come in.

"I could have stayed and trained but I knew deep down I had to get out and prove I was a Premier League player."
