He comes back to fences after a little break following a busy time over hurdles that saw him take a Grade 2. He won this race 12 months ago and will put in his usual excellent effort.
CLAN DES OBEAUX (2.25 Newbury, nb)
He is on a different level to these rivals if anywhere near his best. The dual King George winner is ten now but won a cracker at Punchestown and was a solid second at Kempton on Boxing Day. He won this race in 2019 and was a neck second 12 months ago.
EDWARDSTONE (2.05 Warwick, treble)
He is the leading British hope for next month’s Arkle and can take this important stepping stone. Alan King’s star has been brilliant since switching to fences.
