RENATO MOICANO is set to step in on just four days’ notice to fight Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 272.
Saturday’s co-main event was thrown into chaos after Rafael Fiziev contracted Covid-19 and pulled out of fighting Dos Anjos.
The pair were due to co-headline in Las Vegas with welterweight rivals Jorge Masvidal, 37, and Colby Covington, 33, main-eventing.
Now ESPN are reporting that 32-year-old Brazilian Moicano has jumped in as a late replacement for UFC.
They claim the fight has been verbally agreed by both teams and all that is needed now is for the contracts to be drafted up and signed.
The five-round fight will be contested at a catchweight of 160 pounds.
Moicano is currently in his homeland and waiting to get the green light to travel to Las Vegas.
Dos Anjos (30-13) last fought in November 2020 in a split-decision win over Paul Felder.

That was his return to lightweight from the welterweight division.
Meanwhile Moicano (16-4-1) is on a two-fight win streak and tasted victory in three of his last four outings.
He was in action less than a month ago when he got a second-round submission win over Alexander Hernandez at UFC 271.
