THE WWE world was left shocked last night as a spectator attacked ring legend Bret Hart during his Hall of Fame Ceremony speech.
The shocking incident took place on Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, one day before Wrestlemania 35.
Cancer and stroke survivor Hart, 61, was being inducted into the Hall of Fame as part of the Hart Foundation tag team with recently deceased partner Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart.
Accompanied on stage by Natalya, Neidhart's daughter and current WWE superstar, Hart began to give his speech.
A crazed intruder then ran into the ring and tackled the wrestling veteran as WWE cameras cut away from the disgusting act.
CBS New York have identified him as 26-year-old Zachary Madsen from Nebraska.
Footage show Shane McMahon, Xavier Woods, Tyson Kidd, Curtis Axel and former UFC fighter Travis Browne all rush to intervene and break up the incident.
The disgraced attacker was reportedly on the receiving end of some punches by those who helped break up the incident.
The LA Times are reporting that the man has "been charged with 2 counts of assault in the 3rd degree and disorderly conduct".
And police also claim Hart did not go to the hospital, as he was credited for even finishing his speech after the vile attack.
