The Rock called out by WWE champ Roman Reigns for WrestleMania 39 main event fight in Hollywood… in two-years time

ROMAN REIGNS has once again called-out Dwayne 'The Rock’ Johnson for WrestleMania.

The Great One, who paved the way for wrestlers to make the transition to the mainstream entertainment business, last competed in a six-second impromptu match against Erick Rowan at WrestleMania 32.

Hollywood’s highest-earning actor, 48, became one of the most recognisable faces on the planet during the WWE Attitude Era days in the 1990s.

Following a transition to the silver screen to become one of the biggest actors in the business, he announced that he quietly retired from wrestling in 2019.

However Reigns – real name Joe Anoaʻi – has already said a match between the 'family members' would be perfect to draw the legend back at WrestleMania.

Now he has spoken again about the prospect in an interview with Ariel Helwani – and the Universal Champion believes that the Showcase of the Immortals in LA in 2023 would be the perfect setting.

Reigns said: “Imagine me with another two years of this dominance, going against the Great One.

“I mean, like in Hollywood, which is god-willing, you know the next step. If he’s down, it’d be cool.”

He added: “I wanna create the largest, most monumental moments that sports entertainment can hold.

“So if that involves him in the picture, then absolutely. And it all comes back and I think he would agree to this, it all comes back to the audience.

“What do our fans wanna see? What’s gonna entertain? What’s gonna create that escapism where they feel like this is real. Those are the moments I wanna create.”

Both Reigns, 35, and Johnson consider each other cousins though they are not technically related as their grandfathers, who are both from Samoa, were blood brothers.

While they have never faced off in the ring, the two starred alongside each other in last year's Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.
