Top ten most valuable Prem teams with Chelsea now ahead of Man Utd and Arsenal's young stars increasing theirs to £505m

CHELSEA have overtaken Manchester United in terms of overall squad value as the January transfer window gets underway.

The Blues are now the second most valuable team in the Premier League – behind leaders Manchester City.

Thomas Tuchel’s men have overhauled a stuttering United side who – despite dire results on the pitch – remain the top flight’s third most valuable off it.

Title contenders Liverpool are ranked as the fourth most valuable.

Transfermarkt has totted up the transfer value of every senior player at England’s top clubs.

And Arsenal appear to be doing great business as their crop of young stars is now valued at over £500MILLION.

The Gunners haven’t paid a penny for the likes of academy graduates Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe.

But they now boast a squad valued at over half a billion pounds with an average age of just 25-years-old.

However, they find themselves behind bitter rivals Tottenham, with their side valued at £579m and putting them fifth.

Unsurprisingly City are top of the money charts with a squad packed full of world class talent.

Superstars such as Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling are all at the peaks of their powers as the Citizens sit ten points clear.

Amazingly the number crunchers at Transfermarkt reckon the AVERAGE value of each City player is a whopping £37.2m – with their combined value £892m.

And that’s before they make any waves in the January window – with wonderkid Erling Haaland linked with a blockbuster move to the Etihad.

One side who might expect to see themselves break into the top ten by the end of the month is Newcastle.

The mega-rich Magpies are embarking on a spending spree in the New Year, with Kieran Trippier and Lucas Digne already on the wishlist this month.

They will need to overhaul Leicester, Everton, Aston Villa and Wolves who round off the top ten.
