Tottenham blow over Mauricio Pochettino return as PSG chief Leonardo insists 'he has two-years left, we are very happy'

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN sporting director Leonardo has cooled talk that Mauricio Pochettino will leave the club this summer.

SunSport exclusively revealed how the Argentine is in line for a sensational return to Tottenham.

Poch, 49, is also being linked with the vacant role at Real Madrid after Zinedine Zidane quit the club last week.

Pochettino has only been in Paris for four months but is rumoured to be unhappy after his side lost out to Lille in the title race.

Speculation on Sunday suggested that the manager has told PSG chiefs that he wants to quit.

However Leonardo has played down talk of a suprise exit by insisting all parties 'are very happy.'

He told Europe 1: "Mauricio Pochettino has two years on his contract with PSG, and we are very happy."

It is unlikely to deter Spurs owner Daniel Levy from doing his utmost to lure him back to North London.

Levy regards axing Poch as his biggest error, especially given the struggles of successor Jose Mourinho.

But they face competition from Los Blancos who have been keen admirers of the former Espanyol manager.

It is suggested that Poch is one of four names on their managerial shortlists alongside Antonio Conte, Raul and Xabi Alonso.

Pochettino has made it no secret of his desire to land the job at the Bernabeu in the past.

He previously said: "I don't know if I'll ever coach Madrid, but of course it's my dream.

"If it's not the best it's one of the best clubs in the world.

"I'm no different, everyone has it on their dream list."
