Watch hilarious moment referee dubbed ‘the Spanish Mike Dean’ shows four yellow cards in ONE SECOND during LaLiga clash

A SPANISH referee was compared to English counterpart Mike Dean after brandishing four yellow cards in ONE SECOND during a La Liga game.

There have been reports that Dean was planning to hang up his whistle after 22 years as one of the most respected officials in the game.

Since his career began in 2000, Dean has become the first ref to oversee 500 Premier League games.

The 53-year-old has garnered a reputation for his robustness over two decades that's seen him brandish over 100 red cards, which is a Prem record.

But Dean's records will be broken in no time if match official Antonio Mateu Lahoz continues to hand out cards as fast as he did during Mallorca's 1-0 loss to Getafe on Saturday.

Lahoz felt the need to show who's boss in the hotly-contested La Liga clash by showing four players yellows cards consecutively, Give Me Sport reported.

Mike Dean could retire as Premier League referee at end of the season

Getafe duo Enes Unal and Sandro Ramirez, along with Mallorca pair Giovanni Gonzalez and Franco Russo all fell victim to Lahoz's wrath within milliseconds of each other after they clashed on the pitch.

But he wasn't done yet, and throughout the game, Lahoz showed 11 yellows and one red card in total.

The Spanish authoritarian also awarded Getafe a penalty, but the booked Unal failed to convert from the spot, ultimately handing Mallorca a precious victory.

A clip of Lahoz showing the La Liga cohort he meant business went viral on social with several users expressing their shock over his actions.

One user on Twitter wrote: "Antonio Mateu Lahoz is the Mike Dean of the #UCL."

While another quipped: "The Mike Dean Show walked so Antonio Mateu Lahoz could run."

And a third interjected on Reddit: "Imagine if Mike Dean and Lahoz raised a baby together."

It's not the first time that Lahoz has displayed how ruthless he can be when tested.

During the Champions League final between Chelsea and Manchester City last season, Lahoz helped up Blues defender Antonio Rudiger who was dazed after clumsily clattering into Kevin De Bruyne, only to hand the German a yellow card.
