EDDIE HEARN refused to mince his words as he explained how to Jake Paul that he ‘doesn’t think’ he can become a world champion boxer.
The two men have joined forces to co-promote Katie Taylor’s undisputed title clash with Amanda Serrano.
They will be embarking on a huge media tour together, including the UK, to promote the historic female showdown.
Matchroom chief Hearn helped promote the YouTuber’s first pro boxing bout.
And Paul has gone on to register an undefeated record of 5-0 since – and he has now declared his desire to win a world title inside the ring.
He told talkSPORT Breakfast: “I was ready to fight a professional boxer, I had a poster up in my gym from Eddie that says 'when are you going to fight a real boxer?' that I look at before I enter the gym.
“It's only been two years since my debut and I have continued to increase my level of opposition.
“I have a long way to go because I spar against world champions and I have a giant chip on both shoulders to prove everyone wrong and I am going to just for fun.”

Hearn, while sat next to the 25-year-old, was then asked if he thought Paul could become a world champ.
And he responded: “I don't think so, but he likes proving people wrong not gonna lie.
“But there are so many great fighters out there and the problem is with Jake is that he has a wrestling background so he has spent time in combat.
“But he doesn't have a boxing background and it is no disrespect to Jake you can't just turn to boxing and become world champion, but he will of course try to prove us wrong.”
Paul replied: “I think boxers are easier to fight than MMA fighters because they are more predictable and they don't hit as hard. And the can't take as big of a punch.”
The American has spoken regularly of his desire to become world champion and says he takes sport more ‘serious’ than his brother Logan.
He is still yet to take on a pro boxer in the ring after his planned clash with Tommy Fury was cancelled due to the Brit suffering a rib injury.
He beat both Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley, for the second time, in 2021 and he has also spoken of his desire to compete with pound-for-pound king Canelo Alvarez.
