- Miss Heere explained that the young owl was actually strengthening its muscles

After striding purposefully, the chick then spread its wings and broke into a run.
According to photographer Hannie Heere, 64, the youngster was strengthening its muscles as it learns how to fly.
A little barn owl in Brabant, in the Netherlands stretching its muscles and learning how to fly for the first time
‘This was the first time I’ve seen an owl run like this and I really enjoyed it,’ said Miss Heere, who spotted the bird in Brabant in the Netherlands.
The baby owl ran towards its mother and a waiting mouse dinner.
Ms Heere patiently stood five or six metres away from the birds so as not to startle them and capture their natural behaviours.
Her picture has since been shared by millions of people around the world, and modified to create joke images.

Owls make their first flight at ten weeks old. Before then they get ready to fly via a process of trial and error and display unusual movements like the ones in the photograph.
Ms Heere added: ‘A couple of people have told me it’s a very unusual and cute photo of a brave walker.’
One meme maker captioned the image ‘Five year-old me running to say hello to dad when he comes back from work’, while another prankster added: ‘Oh lawd he comin’.
Another even photoshopped a tiny sword and shield to the image, with hilarious results.
