An Aurora man was convicted last week of first-degree murder in the 2018 death of his 65-year-old mother.
The body of 65-year-old Lila Ann King was found inside her Weld County home in July 2018.
On Friday, a Weld County jury found Joseph Ribble, 45, guilty of one county of first-degree murder in her death. Ribble was sentenced immediately to life in prison without parole.
After King’s death, Ribble stole her vehicle and fled to Texas, according to a district attorney’s office news release. He was also convicted on one count of aggravated motor vehicle theft.
Ribble was arrested in Texas and extradited back to Weld County in August 2018.
