‘Beautiful’ pregnant mum butchered at ex’s house as cops launch murder probe

A beloved mother who was pregnant with her third child has been found murdered in her home in Australia.

Michelle Darragh,32, was visiting the home of her former partner Ben Coman, 29, when she was found dead in his Melbourne home on Saturday.

The mother-of-two was reportedly visiting Coman’s property to collect her remaining belongings after the two split after six years together, according to 9News.

Both her and Coman were found with life threatening injuries but Michelle could not be saved by paramedics.

Michelle’s body was reportedly found on a pile of bloodied clothes, according to the Daily Mail.

Coman is currently at Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition and remains under police guard.

Police arrived at Coman’s property on Huntington Avenue at 7:30pm.

The incident is being investigated by the homicide squad and they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the death.

Speaking to 9News, Michelle's brother said: “Our family has lost a beautiful daughter and sister. We are beside ourselves with emotion.

“She absolutely adored her boys and gave her life to them.”

Another unknown family member told The Age that Michelle was “the most beautiful soul that you could ever get”.

They continued: “She lived for her kids and family and always put other people first in front of her own self. We will always remember her beautiful nature and her infectious smile that lit the room up when she walked into it.”

A neighbour, Trent Falahey, who lived next to Coman told 9News they were a “nice couple” and did not know something had happened until the sirens.

The Australian Association of Social Workers, which was Michelle’s occupation, posted a message on Facebook from its National President Vittorio Cintio.

It read: “The weekend saw the tragic death of Michelle Darragh, a young mother of two and dedicated social worker. Our condolences go out to the family of Michelle during this deeply traumatic time. We must never lose sight of the fact that violence in the home is never acceptable.”

Police say they are yet to speak to Coman over the incident.
