Brazen teen girl gang stole croissants, cigarettes and scratch cards from Tesco

Four girls are wanted for questioning after a brazen theft took place for lottery scratch cards and baked goods in a Tesco store in Hove.

The gang of girls entered the store at around 7:25pm on July 18 stealing cigarettes worth hundreds of pounds, lottery scratch cards and croissants.

The theft was captured by security cameras with Sussex Police appealing to anyone who may recognise these girls.

The brazen robbery took place at the Tesco Express branch in Denmark Villas, near Hove station.

In the security footage, two girls are seen going behind the counter to help themselves to age-restricted items including lottery scratch cards and cigarettes.

Almost moments later the other two girls are seen grabbing bakery products including some croissants.

It also appears to show them grabbing bottles of soft drinks and other items.

A member of staff attempted to stop one of the girls who was seen behind the tills.

This sparked a panic among them with the footage then showing the teenage girls fleeing the scene with their stolen goods in tow.

Sussex Police said that the four women are now wanted for questioning and are appealing to the public to help trace them.

The women who was seen behind the counter taking the items is white with dark hair in plaits.

She was seen in the footage to be wearing a dark top and shorts with sunglasses.

The second women who was also behind the counter is described as white with brown hair, wearing a leopard print jacket a black vest top and also wearing sunglasses.

The third women who took some items from the stores shelves is white with dark hair and seen wearing a grey hooded Puma top with sunglasses.

The fourth girl who is also seen stealing items from the shelves is with blonde/light brown hair wearing a black top, shorts and fluffy flip-flop shoes.

Police officers are further investigating whether this theft may be linked to a previous robbery taking place in the Co-op store in Field Place Parade, Goring on June 14 at 5:45pm.

The Co-op theft also saw two young women enter the store grabbing items from the shelves and leaving without paying.

Anyone who can identify or who recognises them is asked to contact Sussex Police online or call 101 and quote serial 215 of 18/07.
