Brit tourist plunges head first from balcony during ‘drunken’ daredevil stunt

A British tourist suffered horrendous injuries to his head, after plummeting to the ground while attempting to climb up a balcony on a celebrity island in Croatia.

The 30-year-old is fighting for his life in hospital, due to his drunken antics, in Hvar.

Upon the report of the accident, the ER rushed to the scene, but they quickly realised that the gentleman needed intubation. Consequently, they airlifted him to the mainland to the regional hospital in the Adriatic port of Split.

Croatian media report that he's still being carefully monitored in the Intensive Care Unit.

The harrowing incident marks the second time in April that a Brit has nearly lost their life abroad.

In Benidorm, Spain, a woman plummeted six floors towards the ground, with the police detaining her husband on suspicion of attempted murder.

Luckily, the 36-year-old woman survived, but sadly, she ended up in a critical condition in hospital.

The island of Hvar has become a glamorous place in recent years.

Stars of the big screen and business, such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Bernie Ecclestone, have been spotted basking under the Croatian sun as its popularity with Brits has ballooned.

And even Prince Harry supposedly frequents the island, with the Duke of Sussex alleged to hold some of the wildest parties in Europe.

The paradise destination has a rich history, with many intellectuals visiting to enjoy the 13th-century monuments.

But in bulk, it's full of Brits abroad looking to catch a tan and have a dip in the sea.
