A bus driver who won £1million on a lottery scratchcard while he was waiting for a doner kebab said he plans to buy his first home.
Steve Goodwin, 51, bought a scratchcard in his local supermarket on Easter Monday while he was shopping for some bread and other ‘bits and bops’.
He scratched it just outside the Co-op in Holsworthy, Devon, while waiting for his doner kebab from the store next door to be ready.
Mr Goodwin, who is originally from Leicester and moved to Devon to be closer to his parents, said the final number on his Bank The Cash card was 73, which the bus driver hoped meant he had ‘won big’.
Supermarket employees told him to contact The National Lottery about the scratchcard and he picked up his dinner and drove home.

He told the Mirror: ‘I can’t remember much of the journey, as I was a bit emotional. I am not embarrassed to say I shed a tear.
‘I told my landlady that I needed to make an important call and asked if I could use her landline, and I rang the National Lottery people.’
When he realised he was a millionaire, the 51-year-old called his mother and his girlfriend Heidi Hammond, also 51, to tell them the news.
He said at first they didn’t believe him and he held onto his scratchcard so tightly he slept with it under his pillow.
The next day, the bus driver went to work on his usual route between Launceston and Plymouth for Go Cornwall.
He said he was ‘chuckling’ to himself as people got on as they didn’t know their bus driver was in fact a millionaire.

He told the Mirror: ‘I will continue working, so will Heidi but we plan to have more holidays.
‘We are now both debt free which is unbelievable and it’s a wonderful nest egg for our retirement. Life is pretty good.’
He said his work colleagues at the bus depot were delighted for him when they found out he had won.
Mr Goodwin and his girlfriend plan to celebrate his win by going on holiday and the bus driver has already bought himself a new car.
